The air defense units of the North group of forces destroyed 17 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) overnight The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the border area of the Russian Federation. This was announced on July 6 by the group of troops.

"During the combat duty of the calculations of the radar stations of the North group of forces over the past night, 17 UAVs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were detected flying towards the border regions of the Russian Federation. As a result of the combat work of the air defense calculations, all detected UAVs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kharkiv and Sumy regions were destroyed," TASS reports.

On July 5, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the air defense forces destroyed 116 Ukrainian UAVs over the regions of Russia in 12 hours. The targets were intercepted between 8:00 and 20:00 Moscow time over the territories of the Belgorod, Bryansk, Tula, Kursk, Voronezh, Kaluga, Orel, Tver regions, as well as over the Moscow region and the Republic of Crimea.
