Before reaching the age of 40, everyone should have their heart condition checked at least once to identify possible cardiovascular risks. This was announced on July 6 by Evgeny Shlyakhto, Director of the Almazov National Research Medical Center of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, chief freelance cardiologist at the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.

"All citizens should have their hearts checked at least once before the age of 40. You can donate blood for lipoprotein, which is a marker of the early development of atherosclerosis. This should especially be done if there were relatives in the anamnesis who at an early age had cardiovascular diseases, manifestations of atherosclerosis, systemic changes in connective tissue such as Marfan syndrome and so on," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to Shlyakhto, smoking, alcohol consumption and a sedentary lifestyle negatively affect the state of the cardiovascular system.

The expert stressed that timely diagnosis and regular examinations are of great importance for maintaining health and increasing life expectancy. He also noted that healthy longevity depends on lifestyle, environment, emotional state, communication, curiosity and activity of the person himself, who should have a goal and desire to take care of his health.

Ilya Balanin, Chairman of the Federal Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund (FFMS), announced on July 2 that the list of free medical examinations available to citizens as part of medical examinations and preventive examinations has expanded in Russia.

Yulia Drozhzhina, a member of the State Duma Committee on Health Protection, said on June 13 that from the beginning of autumn, during the medical examination of citizens, increased attention will be paid to cardiovascular risks, including assessing the likelihood of coronary heart disease. Doctors will also pay attention to cognitive impairments, the risks of falls and fractures due to osteoporosis, prediabetes, osteoporosis, Alzheimer's disease and a number of mental disorders.
