Wagenknecht demanded to summon Zelensky to Germany because of the explosion of the Nord Streams

Sarah Wagenknecht, founder of the Sarah Wagenknecht Union for Reason and Justice party, demanded that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky be summoned to Germany to testify as part of the investigation into the explosion of the Nord Stream gas pipelines. She published the corresponding statement on July 5.

"We need a political clarification: was the war crime approved by the Ukrainian leadership? If so, how do you explain to German taxpayers that billions of euros of tax money continue to be transferred to these people? To clarify the situation, the parliament of the land of Schwering should also summon the President of Ukraine Zelensky," follows from the text of the publication.

According to the politician, Zelensky should appear before the Landtag of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the federal state in which the energy project was being implemented. Wagenknecht stressed that the decision of the Federal Prosecutor's Office to classify the explosion as a war crime should have political consequences.

She noted that the Bundestag cannot create a parliamentary commission of inquiry into this case, since the Green and Left parties refuse to do this together with Alternative for Germany. Wagenknecht demanded that after the elections, the Schwerin state parliament convene an investigative commission on terrorism in connection with the Nord Stream. In addition, the investigative commission must determine what the federal government knew as early as 2022 and whether it misled the public.

"What Berlin refuses to do, Schwering must do himself. Citizens are finally waiting for answers and political consequences," Wagenknecht concluded.

Pipeline situation: damage to Germany from the explosion of the Nord Streams exceeds 160 billion euros

While Berlin is hiding the results of the sabotage investigation, the Russian Foreign Ministry is preparing an appeal to the UN International Court of Justice in the case of terrorist attacks.

Wagenknecht said on July 2 that German Chancellor Friedrich Merz continues to provide multibillion-dollar assistance to Kiev in gratitude for the undermining of the Nord Stream gas pipelines. It was noted that she called on the German government to focus on resuming the import of available Russian gas through the remaining intact section of the pipeline.

On the same day, the German Prosecutor General's Office confirmed the charge against a Ukrainian citizen in the case of the terrorist attack on the Nord Stream gas pipelines. The prosecutor's office reported that in 2022, Sergei K. served as an officer in the Ukrainian army. According to investigators, he, along with other Ukrainian soldiers, on behalf of the state structures of Ukraine, participated in the development of a plan to undermine the Nord Stream and Nord Stream —2 gas pipelines.
