Ferrari driver Leclair wins British Formula 1 Grand Prix
Ferrari driver Charles Leclair from Monaco won the ninth stage of the Formula 1 World Championship, the British Grand Prix, on July 5. The race was held at the Silverstone circuit.
The second place was taken by the British Mercedes driver George Russell (+0.427 seconds). His compatriot Lewis Hamilton finished third (+0.772), who received a 5-second penalty for a false start.
Overall standings leader Max Verstappen from Red Bull flew off the track a few laps before the finish and got stuck in the gravel, finishing 16th. The next stage of the Grand Prix will be held in Belgium from 17 to 19 July, adds Sport-Express.
On July 3, the driver of the Ferrari team, British Lewis Hamilton, became the winner of the qualification for the sprint of the ninth stage of the Formula 1 World Championship in the car class of the 2026 season — the British Grand Prix. The second place in the protocol was taken by the Italian racer Kimi Antonelli, representing Mercedes. The three leaders were rounded out by Red Bull team driver Max Verstappen from the Netherlands.
