Saldo called the liberation of Konstantinovka a blow to Western propaganda.
The liberation of the city of Konstantinovka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) was a blow to the virtual picture of the world created by the Western media in reports on the situation on the line of contact. This was announced on July 5 by the governor of the Kherson region, Vladimir Saldo.
"The liberation of Konstantinovka is also a blow to this virtual picture of the world," he told RIA Novosti.
According to the head of the region, two different realities have formed at the moment. The first one exists directly on earth, where the Russian Armed Forces are consistently moving forward and occupying new settlements. The second reality is being broadcast by a significant part of the Western media, which claims that Ukraine is allegedly constantly seizing the initiative and is close to victory.
The governor noted that it is becoming increasingly difficult to hide the real facts, even for those who try to replace them with convenient headlines. As Baldo pointed out, the front line changes according to its own laws and does not depend on reports in the press or on television.
Konstantinovka was one of the key hubs of the Ukrainian defense and logistics chains in Donbas. According to the head of the Kherson region, the loss of this city by the Ukrainian Armed Forces changes the tactical situation in the entire area at once.
On the same day, the Russian Defense Ministry announced the refusal of the Ukrainian authorities from Russia's proposal to introduce a temporary ceasefire so that the Ukrainian Armed Forces could remove the bodies of the dead militants from Konstantinovka. Konstantinovka completely came under the control of the Russian Armed Forces on July 3. At the same time, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that the capture of the settlement was an important stage in the liquidation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kramatorsk-Slavyansk fortified area. First Deputy Chief of the General Staff, Colonel-General Sergei Rudskoy, said that the liberated Konstantinovka is the key to Kiev's last stronghold in Donbas.
