In Abkhazia, a section of the railway was closed due to a fallen tree on the way.

Train No. 480 Sukhum – Moscow on Monday will proceed from Gagra due to a falling tree on the railway tracks. This was reported on July 5 in the Telegram channel of the Federal Passenger Company (FPC).

"As a result of a tree falling on the track, the Tsandripsh–Gagra railway section of the Abkhazian Railway was closed to train traffic," the report says.

Due to the incident, train No. 479, en route from St. Petersburg to Sukhum, was stopped. Passengers of this train, as well as train No. 303 Moscow – Sukhum, will be transported to their destination stations by road.

The company clarified that the transportation of train passengers from the Russian capital will be organized according to a similar scheme. On July 2, the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in Tatarstan reported that two carriages of a utility train derailed in the republic, which delayed five passenger trains and two electric trains. It was noted that two wagons of a utility train derailed on the Gorky railway section on the Korsa–Arsk section.
