The air defense forces of the Russian Ministry of Defense destroyed five unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) that were heading towards Moscow. This was announced on July 5 by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin.

"The Defense Ministry's air defense systems destroyed five UAVs," he wrote on the Maks messenger.

Sobyanin also said that the crash site was being examined by emergency services specialists. Thus, the number of downed drones on approach to the capital has increased to 15.

On July 4, the mayor of the capital reported that over 200 UAVs had been flying towards the Moscow region over the past 24 hours. Most of them have been neutralized by air defense forces on distant approaches.
