"At the moment, after switching to bank cards with an integrated chip, skimming and shimming no longer pose a threat, and the advent of contactless ATMs without a physical card reader has made the installation of readers (pads, mini cameras, fake keyboards) technically impossible," TASS reports.

According to the Interior Ministry, traditional methods of stealing bank card details are a thing of the past. Previously, fraudsters installed special readers in ATMs to duplicate security codes and information from magnetic strips. Now the era of skimming and shimming is officially over. The agency concluded that these technologies are no longer relevant.
