- Ushakov: Putin told Trump that the Russian Armed Forces will liberate the entire Donbas
The Russian army will take control of all fortified areas of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Donbas, regardless of Kiev's attempts to hold positions. This was stated on July 5 by Russian Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, commenting on the contents of a telephone conversation between Russian and American leaders Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump.
"An important stage in the liberation of the entire territory of the Donetsk People's Republic was the establishment of control over such a key stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as Konstantinovka. <...> And no matter how the Kiev regime clings to the remaining fortified areas, our army will definitely take them," Ushakov said.
The day before, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced that Konstantinovka had completely come under the control of Russian troops. Putin noted that the capture of the settlement is an important stage in the destruction of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kramatorsk-Slavyansk fortified area.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called the liberation of Konstantinovka the most important frontier for the further advance of Russian troops.
