A monument to the founder of the Golden Ring of Russia route was unveiled in Yaroslavl

A monument to journalist Yuri Bychkov, who is the founder of the Golden Ring of Russia tourist route, was unveiled in Yaroslavl. Footage from the scene of the July 4 events is published by Izvestia.

"In two months, everything has been done," said Mikhail Evraev, Governor of the Yaroslavl Region.

The monument was installed on Revolyutsionnaya Street, which is part of the Golden Ring route. According to Evrayev, the opening of the monument is symbolic on the eve of the 60th anniversary of the route, which will be celebrated in 2027.

The author of the five—meter bronze monument weighing about four tons was Yuri Bychkov's son, sculptor Sergey Bychkov. The opening ceremony was also attended by the daughter of journalist Elena Bychkova.

"Many thanks to Governor Mikhail Evraev, and to my brother Sergey, and to all the caring people, the ascetics, who were able to accomplish what we have been trying to do for many years," she said.

The monument depicts a journalist with a gold ring with a cross in his hand. On the opening day, the Golden Ring History Gallery and a multimedia exhibition dedicated to Yuri Bychkov also opened in Yaroslavl.

The Russian Army Theater in Moscow announced on June 22 that it planned to erect a monument in honor of People's Artist of the RSFSR Larisa Golubkina.
