A missing 12-year-old girl in the Leningrad region was found dead. What is known
The body of 12-year-old Milana, who disappeared on July 2 in the Tosnensky district of the Leningrad region, was found on July 3 in a wooded area near the Zahozhye farm with signs of violent death. A criminal case has been opened into the murder. A 42-year-old resident of the Tosnensky district was detained on suspicion of the crime and pleaded guilty. Circumstances of the disappearance
On July 2, the girl went for a walk in the forest for mushrooms, at about 17:00 she contacted her parents for the last time. According to the mother, Tatiana Naumova, the daughter reported that she had collected chanterelles and was returning home. The girl said she was heading towards the house. However, she did not come home.
The mother contacted the police on July 2, and police officers and volunteers joined the search for the child. Surveillance cameras recorded how the girl went out on the road between the gardens.
Body detection
The girl's body was found on the morning of July 3 near the Zahozhye farm in the Tosnensky district. A spontaneous memorial appeared at the place where the body was discovered — local residents brought flowers and a toy bear.
According to the Izvestia source, multiple injuries were found on the body: traces of strangulation, more than 30 stab wounds in the neck and thoracic region from behind, as well as incised wounds to the fingers of the right hand. The cause of death is asphyxia.
Detention of a suspect
During the operational search activities, the suspect was detained in the Gatchina district when he tried to escape by rail. He turned out to be a 42-year-old previously convicted resident of the Tosnensky district. According to the source, the detainee is Fedor M., a member of the board of the Zahozhye farm.
The detainee confessed to the crime. According to the source, he stated that he was "stuck", the goal was rape, but he failed to commit the act. A video recording of the detainee's confession was published by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.
Previously, the man had a criminal record under the article on robbery (art. 162 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). According to the source, he was sentenced by the Tosnensky District Court in September 2013 to 2 years and 2 months of general regime, released on parole on October 21, 2014.
The suspect's wife, Natalia, confirmed the fact of his detention, saying that on the day of the crime, her husband returned home at about 19:00. Evgeny, Deputy chairman of the board of the cooperative, described Fedor as a "calm and balanced" person who had never been seen to be aggressive.
The reaction of the authorities
A criminal case has been opened into the murder under Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Murder").
