A member of the Batal-Hadji gang was detained in Ingushetia for kidnapping an apartment owner.

In Ingushetia, law enforcement officers detained a member of a group of followers of the Batal-Haji Belkhoroev movement (a terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation), suspected of abducting and murdering a resident of Moscow in order to appropriate his real estate. This was announced on July 4 by a source of Izvestia.

According to the investigation, 56-year-old Magomet Mutsolgov and his relatives abducted the owner of a Moscow apartment in 2014. The attackers forced the man to drink alcohol and demanded to transfer their housing rights. As a result, the abducted man died, after which the gang members hid his body.

"Mutsolgov has been charged with murder, extortion and kidnapping," the source said.

It is added that the detainee and his accomplices are involved in a series of similar crimes in the capital. The group was engaged in abductions of Muscovites to seize their apartments.

The Batalhajians association has many high-profile crimes on its account. In particular, members of the organization are linked to the murder of Ibragim Eljarkiev, head of the Center for Countering Extremism at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ingushetia, the source said.

A source from Izvestia reported on May 19 that law enforcement officers had detained one of the members of the group of "followers of the Batal-Hadji Belkhoroev movement." The operation took place on May 18 in the settlement of Ali-Yurt in the Nazran district of the region. At the same time, 53-year-old Bekhan Albogachiev has been wanted for more than 20 years.

Last December, members of Belkhoroev's group were detained in Moscow, Ingushetia and Chechnya. It was noted that members of the association abducted Muscovites and illegally appropriated their real estate. A criminal case was also opened under Part 4 of Article 222.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Illegal storage of explosives and explosive devices").
