Russia's statements about the need to achieve long-term and sustainable peace provoke a negative reaction from a number of European countries. This was announced on July 4 by Alexey Mukhin, director of the Center for Political Information.

In his opinion, some European states are focused on the continuation of the conflict and are interested in prolonging it. Mukhin noted that the countries of Northern Europe and the Baltic States are taking steps that indicate an increased confrontation with Russia, including in the field of military security.

"The countries of Northern Europe and the Baltic States <...> allow Ukrainian drones through their territory, they pass laws that allow the deployment of nuclear weapons on their territory," he said in an interview with Izvestia.

Military expert Andrei Starykh, in turn, expressed the opinion that a possible truce at the current stage could be used by the opposite side for a temporary respite and accumulation of resources.

He added that against the background of the intensification of Western defense programs, granting such a pause, in his opinion, would be unjustified and unfair to the Russian military.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on July 3 that Konstantinovka in the Donetsk People's Republic had completely come under the control of Russian troops. According to Peskov, Konstantinovka is an important settlement that the Ukrainian forces have turned into a large fortified area. He noted that, despite this, the city was completely liberated thanks to the heroism of the Russian fighters.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on the same day that the capture of Konstantinovka by the Russian Armed Forces was an important stage in the destruction of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kramatorsk-Slavyansk fortified area.
