Der Spiegel learned about possible personal motives in the assassination attempt on Ermolaev

Law enforcement agencies are considering versions about the connection of the assassination attempt on Ukrainian businessman Vadim Ermolaev in Monaco with organized crime or personal motives. This was reported by Der Spiegel magazine on July 3.

"So far, obviously, there is no evidence of any special service's involvement in the crime," the publication says.

On the same day, Interpol revealed the identity of the main suspect, who turned out to be 39-year-old Anastasia Berezovskaya, and issued a red warrant for her arrest. The BFMTV channel said that the woman was spotted in Germany. It was clarified that she could disguise herself by pretending to be a man. After a while, information appeared that two of her accomplices had already been detained in Monaco, with whom she wanted to escape to Italy.

In addition, the suspect's apartment and car were searched in Germany. It was noted that law enforcement officers managed to find evidence that had already been transferred to Monaco. It is not specified what exactly was found.

According to media reports, Ukrainian businessman Vadim Ermolaev is among the injured.

Ermolaev's assassination attempt was carried out on June 29. As a result, not only a businessman who was going to publicly expose corruption in Ukraine suffered, but also his 13-year-old son, as well as a companion named Anna Nasobina, whose legs were blown off. The incident, as political analyst Oleg Vedutov considered in an interview with Izvestia, could be an internal Ukrainian showdown.
