Sobyanin spoke about the construction of modern district court buildings in Moscow

Moscow continues to build modern and comfortable buildings for district courts, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said.

In recent years, eight district courts of the capital have started working in new buildings, and plans are underway to improve the working conditions of four more, the mayor wrote on his channel in Maks.

In particular, the construction of buildings for the Tagansky and Lefortovo courts is currently underway, and the work is expected to be completed next year. So far, these two institutions are operating in buildings built more than a century ago, the mayor noted.

"The new eight-storey building in the Customs Passage will be divided into two sections with separate entrances. 36 courtrooms, offices for more than 100 employees, meeting rooms and rest rooms will be set up inside," Sobyanin said. The building will also have equipment necessary for the comfort and safety of all participants in court sessions.

In March, Sergei Sobyanin and Chairman of the Moscow City Court Mikhail Ptitsyn opened two houses of justice. The first is located in the Orekhovo-Borisovo Yuzhnoye district, the second is in Chertanov Central. A total of 21 magistrates' precincts are located there.

As the mayor noted, over the past year, magistrates reviewed 2.5 million different cases — civil and criminal. "This is a huge amount of work. It is very important that the justices of the peace are in comfortable conditions," he stressed. The buildings are equipped with courtrooms, workrooms, rooms for storing archives and physical evidence, rooms for reviewing case materials, and areas for receiving visitors.
