ECB President Lagarde did not rule out her early retirement
The head of the European Central Bank (ECB), Christine Lagarde, has suggested that she may resign before the end of her term at the end of 2027. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on July 3.
The head of the ECB clarified that she may leave her seat to take part in the election race in France.
"It's possible. I believe that the European voice should be heard in the debates of the French presidential candidates," Lagarde said.
In February, Lagarde also admitted that she could resign before the end of her eight-year term in office. However, the ECB itself denied rumors about her departure and stated that the head of the ECB "is fully focused on her mission and has not made any decisions regarding the end of her term of office."
