In the Askania-Nova Nature Reserve, about 2.1 thousand hectares of steppe burned out due to the attacks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

In one of the largest reserves in Europe, Askania Nova, in the Kherson region, about 2.1 thousand hectares of steppe were burned out due to attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced on July 3 by the press service of the reserve.

"The first fire as a result of an attack by Ukrainian UAVs occurred on June 24, followed by eight more. On June 28, the elimination of a fire on one of the steppe sites lasted nine hours," the Telegram channel says.

According to the institution, the fire destroyed unique virgin steppe biotopes, including rare species of flora and fauna — small mammals, arthropods and reptiles, as well as various plant species. In addition, the entire ecosystem of the steppe was affected by the fire.

After the UAV attack on the Sevastopol Defense Museum, the famous painting by Roubaud, which survived the German bombing during the Great Patriotic War, was damaged.

In Sevastopol, on June 30, after the wreckage of a downed Ukrainian drone fell, a forest on an area of 28 hectares caught fire. It was noted that more than 240 people and 58 pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire. Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev added that the damaged forest areas are planned to be restored later.
