An attempt on the life of Ukrainian businessman Vadim Ermolaev in Monaco could have been committed by a woman. This was reported on July 2 by the French newspaper Le Figaro, citing sources.

"A woman of about 30 years old left a package with explosives at the house of Ukrainian oligarch Vadim Ermolaev," the publication says.

According to the newspaper, after the explosion, the suspect went to the French commune of Beausoleil. Investigators believe that she later left the country. Law enforcement officers do not rule out that before the attack, the woman had been monitoring the businessman's house for several days.

On the evening of the incident, the newspaper clarified that the suspect had been sitting on a bench opposite Ermolaev's apartment for some time. After that, she approached the building, and soon an explosion occurred.

The assassination attempt on Ermolaev took place on June 29 and was the first terrorist attack in the history of Monaco, whose Prince Albert II condemned the incident. As a result of the incident, in addition to the entrepreneur himself, his 13-year-old son and companion named Anna Nasobina suffered, whose legs were blown off. Ermolaev's wife Anna was not affected by the incident, as she was in another place at the time of the incident. In her interview, the woman stated that she was under severe stress and would not disclose the details of what had happened yet.

According to French foreign intelligence officer and co-founder of the European Center for Strategic Intelligence and Security, Claude Monique, the Ukrainian businessman planned to make a speech in the European Parliament (EP) exposing corruption in Ukraine. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova blamed Monaco for the attack, as it was involved in raising a "bloody monster" from the Kiev regime.
