The lawyer assessed the chances of the wanted Ilan Medvedev to escape

It will not be difficult for law enforcement agencies to find German citizen Ilan Josef Medvedev. Lawyer Alexander Dobrovinsky told Izvestia about this on July 2.

"The world has become very small for Ilan Medvedev. We can guess where he is. To date, these are three countries — Russia, Germany and Israel. I don't think it will be difficult to find him," he said.

As Dobrovinsky emphasized, the assumptions that Germany does not extradite its citizens are incorrect: the state is a member of the European Union, and one of Medvedev's crimes was committed on its territory.

The lawyer noted that after widespread media coverage, more attention would be paid to the fraudster, and it would become difficult for him to continue his "execution of honest people." Dobrovinsky admitted that he had known Medvedev since he was eight years old — he gave him golf clubs for his birthday. Many years later, Ilan joined an elite Moscow golf club - some of the customers he deceived were his visitors.

"He deceived many people. And he deceived me, among other things, that I knew him as a child, knew his family well. I understood that the family was very peculiar, but I believed that Ilan would never let me or my friends down," the lawyer said.

Discussing the investigation, Dobrovinsky suggested that new victims and affected organizations might appear in the case — according to him, the amount of damage could range from 1.5 to 2 billion rubles.

"I suspect that, perhaps, it will be an organized criminal community. This is a very serious article and a very serious deadline. As far as I understand, the investigation is going in this direction today," the lawyer concluded.

His accomplice has been in one of the Moscow pre-trial detention centers since April, and the German citizen himself is wanted by the TFR.

On the same day, Izvestia found out that 31-year-old Medvedev was put on the all-Russian wanted list, charged with fraud on an especially large scale. According to the investigation, he is one of the organizers of a large-scale scheme for the supply of luxury cars from Europe. According to investigators, the man, along with his accomplices, convinced friends to buy premium cars, promising to deliver cars to Russia at an undervalued price. However, none of the customers received the cars.
