Reshetnikov pointed to the growing mutual tourist flow between Russia and Tanzania.
The mutual tourist flow between Russia and Tanzania may grow to 80 thousand people by the end of the year. This was announced on July 2 by the head of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Reshetnikov.
"Taking into account the fact that flights will fly three times a week, it is estimated that this year they should reach the peak figures of 2021. And the number of mutual trips may reach 80,000 by the end of the year, but, of course, this does not reflect the potential of tourism," he said at the signing ceremony of the memorandum of cooperation in the field of tourism development between the two countries.
The Minister called the development of direct contacts between representatives of the tourism industry of the two countries a key factor for increasing the number of travelers. According to him, it is impossible to increase indicators without the systematic interaction of entrepreneurs.
Reshetnikov also recalled the successful experience of the business mission of Russian operators to Tanzania, organized in August last year. This year, the Russian side has already recorded a 40% increase in the tourist flow.
The head of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, Andrey Nikitin, announced on May 27 that Air Tanzania had received permission to operate flights on the Dar es Salaam — Moscow route. According to him, the flights will be operated three times a week on Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. Previously, Air Tanzania did not operate flights to Russia. The issuance of the permit was preceded by interstate consultations with the participation of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation. Nikitin also expressed gratitude to the Tanzanian side for the constructive dialogue and stressed that the agency would continue to expand the map of international flights in the interests of Russian citizens and foreign tourists.
