Parents can help a child learn English from an early age, even with a basic level of proficiency, if they establish regular practice and create a positive language environment. Marina Sheinkman, the founder of the BalticNet School Academy of Tutors, told Izvestia about this on June 2.

"The main thing is regularity, positivity and the right approach. Children learn through play and emotions, not through perfect grammar. Therefore, even with a basic level, you can give a child a powerful start," she explained.

She noted that at the initial stage, you can choose a convenient strategy: allocate time for English during the day or fix the language for specific situations, such as games, walks or meals. Sheinkman emphasized that simple everyday phrases work best, which are repeated in different situations and gradually remembered by the child.

The expert also advises creating a language environment through cartoons, songs, picture books and simple game formats, as well as using stickers with English words in everyday life. According to her, it is important not to avoid mistakes and to learn with the child, turning the process into a joint practice rather than knowledge control.

"Don't expect the ideal from yourself. Children learn pronunciation better from native speakers in cartoons and songs. Even with basic English, you can give your child a powerful start. After 3-6 months, you'll see progress from both of them. The child will speak more freely, and you will raise your level," Sheinkman concluded.

On June 25, Russian Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov said that the ministry continues to work on creating a unified line of school textbooks in all general education subjects. By the end of 2026, new editions in a number of subjects for senior and middle grades may be included in the federal list of textbooks. The minister clarified that by the end of 2026, the federal list is planned to include unified textbooks on the Russian language, literature, chemistry, physics and biology for students in grades 10-11, as well as on labor for students in grades 5-9.
