The State Duma proposed to cancel the payment of toll roads for large families

The State Duma proposed introducing free travel on toll roads in the summer for large families. This initiative was made by deputies of the New People faction, who prepared a letter addressed to Transport Minister Andrei Nikitin, TASS reported on July 2.

According to the deputies, such a measure would be relevant from June 1 to August 31 or in another period related to school holidays and mass family trips. Free travel could apply to one passenger car of a large family. The mechanism could be implemented through Gosuslugi or the transponder's personal account with confirmation of the status of a large family and information about the car, the communication says.

The parliamentarians noted that large families often use a private car during vacations and school holidays, but travel expenses can be a significant part of the family budget.

Proposals to introduce free travel on toll roads for families with many children have been made before. For example, in April of this year, State Duma deputies from the Fair Russia faction prepared a similar appeal to the head of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation. And in May, Vladislav Grib, Deputy Secretary of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, announced the need for such a measure.

The Ministry of Labor called on them to lift restrictions on obtaining preferential status for large families.

As reported on June 8, a bill was submitted to the State Duma, which proposes to compensate for the paid recycling fee for cars for large families. The authors of the bill noted that recycling has made it less affordable to purchase many vehicles.
