Construction of a medium-pressure pipeline has begun in Kuntsevo

Specialists of the Moscow Municipal economy complex have begun construction of a medium-pressure gas pipeline in the Kuntsevo area. This was announced on Thursday, July 2, according to the website of the Moscow City Hall.

The new pipeline will increase the reliability of gas supply to the district heating plant, which provides heating and hot water to residential buildings and businesses. When designing the facility, experts took into account the prospects for the development of the area, so new engineering networks will be able to meet its needs for decades to come.

The work is underway in a densely populated area in the west of Moscow. Before the start of construction, specialists conducted the necessary soil studies to preserve the nearby utilities. The gas pipeline is laid both open and closed. In areas with dense buildings, borehole drilling technology is used, which makes it possible to lay pipes without opening the pavement and damaging buildings. Polyethylene pipes that are resistant to mechanical stress and environmental influences are used for construction, the Moscow City News Agency reports.

In addition, a modern electric crane will be installed for remote control of the gas supply to the thermal power plant. In the event of an emergency, the signal to cut off the gas supply will automatically come from the central control room of Mosgaz JSC even before the arrival of the emergency team, which will quickly prevent possible consequences. The construction is being carried out in stages with minimal impact on the transport and urban infrastructure. It is planned to complete the work in the second quarter of 2027, writes "Moscow 24".
