Qatar's Foreign Ministry reported on progress in negotiations between the United States and Iran

The United States and Iran have made progress in the proximity talks on the Doha memorandum. This was announced on July 1 by the official representative of the Qatari Foreign Ministry, Majed bin Mohammed al-Ansari.

"Today in Doha, the completion of separate meetings between representatives of Qatar and Pakistan with representatives of the United States and Iran took place, during which positive progress was made on issues related to the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding," he wrote on the social network.

Al-Ansari stressed that the parties agreed to continue discussions in the near future: the next meeting will be scheduled after the farewell and funeral of former Supreme Leader of Iran Ali Khamenei.

The trip of special envoys of the President of the United States Stephen Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Doha on this day was reported by the Reuters news agency, citing White House spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt. The negotiators, as the Qatari Foreign Ministry later indicated, arrived in the capital of the state to talk with the mediators about the settlement in Iran, while their direct talks with representatives of the Islamic Republic were not planned.
