The obligation to have cars with child restraints at their disposal should be legally fixed for taxi aggregators and carriers. This was announced on July 2 by Yuri Grigoriev, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Transport and Transport Infrastructure Development.

"It is necessary to consolidate the obligation for aggregators and carriers [taxis] to ensure the availability of cars with child restraints. If the service offers transportation of children, a car with a wheelchair should not be a happy accident, but a normal part of the service," the parliamentarian said in an interview with TASS.

Grigoriev explained that nowadays parents often have to make a choice between a fast but unsafe trip without a special restraint device and ordering a car with a chair, which is accompanied by a long wait and an inflated cost.

"Such conditions put parents at the greatest disadvantage, while the whole country strives to support families with children," the deputy stressed.

Earlier, on June 23, it was reported that a bill was submitted to the State Duma, which proposes not to extend taxi localization requirements to vehicles equipped exclusively with an electric power plant.
