Roman Zalessky, deputy commander of the Poltava battalion of the Lyut brigade of the National Police of Ukraine, Major of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), was killed in the Kramatorsk area. This was reported on July 1 in the Russian law enforcement agencies.

"Major of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Roman Zalessky, who was the deputy commander of the Poltava battalion, part of the joint assault brigade of the national police Lyut, was eliminated in the Kramatorsk area," a source told RIA Novosti.

The agency's source said that Zalessky held nationalist views. According to him, in 2014, he participated in the operations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Donbass and was captured during the battles for Ilovaysk.

On June 29, Russian law enforcement agencies reported that Georgian mercenary David Kukchishvili of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who was sentenced in absentia in the Donetsk People's Republic to 14 years in prison, had been liquidated in the Kharkiv region. The head of the Georgian Partisans formation, who later joined the Georgian National Legion (recognized as a terrorist organization and banned in the Russian Federation), was eliminated in the Kharkov area.
