An extortion case was opened in Moscow after an attempt to stage an accident.
A criminal case of extortion has been opened in Moscow against a group of people who, according to investigators, tried to stage a traffic accident in order to receive money. This was reported on July 1 in the capital's Main Investigation Department (GSU) of the Investigative Committee.
"A minor suspect of extortion has been detained, who staged a traffic accident together with two accomplices. <...> A criminal case has been opened against the accomplices on the grounds of a crime under paragraph "a" of Part 2 of Article 163 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Extortion committed by a group of persons by prior agreement")," the message says. in the "Max" messenger.
It is noted that among the defendants in the case are a minor girl and two of her accomplices, who were previously arrested. According to the investigation, on June 28 of this year, on Maroseyka Street, the suspects, acting by prior agreement, deliberately organized a fictitious road accident. After the staging, they demanded 10,000 rubles from the victim under threat of calling traffic police officers. It has been established that this episode is connected with the events preceding the attack on the policeman.
As stated in the publication, the investigators examined the CCTV footage and witness statements, which allowed them to establish the involvement of all participants in the scheme. The investigation is currently ongoing.
A correspondent for Izvestia reported on July 1 that a court had arrested a second teenager accused of assaulting a traffic police officer in central Moscow after unsuccessfully staging an accident. It is noted that the young man apologized to the inspector — the man himself was not present at the meeting. The young man partially admitted his guilt, he will remain in custody until August 29.
