Four people died due to the epidemic of scabies in the Czech Republic in 2026
Since the beginning of the year, 7,000 people in the Czech Republic have contracted scabies, while four people have already died. This was reported on June 30 by the TN Nova TV channel, citing data from the National Institute of Health.
"The Czech Republic is facing the largest epidemic of scabies in the last 30 years. According to the National Institute of Health, more than 7 thousand people have been infected since the beginning of the year alone, which is 2 thousand more than in the same period last year. Four people died," the publication says.
Scabies is most common among the elderly and young people. As noted by clinical pharmacist Olga Nedopilkova, treatment for this disease takes several weeks.
The Shortl portal reported on June 17 that five people in Estonia had contracted salmonellosis due to Reeva instant noodles produced at a factory in the Ukrainian city of Bila Tserkva. It was clarified that salmonella was found in Reeva products in other European countries. This gave rise to a large-scale investigation.
