An underage girl drowned in a lake in Bryansk

A girl born in 2015 drowned in Lake Orlik in the Bezhitsky district of Bryansk, a prosecutor's check was organized on the incident. This was reported on July 1 in the press service of the Prosecutor's office of the Bryansk region.

"According to preliminary data, on the evening of July 1, 2026, a girl born in 2015 drowned in Lake Orlik in the Bezhitsky district of Bryansk," a message on the Maks messenger said.

The press service added that the agency is monitoring the establishment of all the circumstances of the incident. It is specified that the supervisory authority will assess the implementation of legislation on ensuring the safety of citizens on water bodies.

There could have been more victims, but 310 vacationers were rescued by the staff of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

On June 27, the Eastern Interregional Investigative Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia reported that investigators had opened a criminal case in the Khabarovsk Territory over the death of a young child as a result of a boat capsizing on the Maya River. According to the Investigative Committee, three people were in the water without life jackets, and the child drowned. The criminal case is being investigated under the article on violation of traffic safety rules and operation of inland waterway transport, which negligently caused the death of a person. Investigators are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
