Sergey Kulichenko, the head of the Russian men's national football team, died at the age of 49. This was announced on July 1 by the press service of the national team.

"We offer our condolences to his family and friends. Bright memory," the Telegram channel says.

Kulichenko joined the Russian Football Union in 2005 as an administrator for national teams. Later, he became a senior administrator, and was appointed head of the Russian national team in 2021.

From 1996 to 2003, Kulichenko was a football player. He played for CSKA, Samara Krylia Sovetov, Lokomotiv Nizhny Novgorod, Torpedo-ZIL, Voronezh Fakel, as well as for Estonian Lantana and Belgian Mechelen.
