The death toll from the earthquake in Venezuela has risen to 2,295 people.

The number of victims as a result of the devastating earthquake in Venezuela has increased to 2,295 people. This was announced on July 1 by the Speaker of the National Assembly of the country, Jorge Rodriguez.

"The death toll [as a result of the earthquake in Venezuela] has reached 2,295," the parliamentarian quoted X (ex. Twitter) edition of Al Arabiya.

According to the speaker of the National Assembly of Venezuela, the number of victims of the disaster exceeded 11.2 thousand people.

The earthquakes in Venezuela occurred on June 24. The epicenter was located 60 km northwest of the city of Valencia, as well as 28 km northeast of San Felipe. The magnitude of the natural disaster reached 7.5. The earthquake was the strongest in the country since 1900.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on June 25 that Russia was considering the possibility of providing humanitarian assistance to Venezuela. The European Union, in turn, allocated €5 million for emergency assistance to the republic.
