Deputy Mayor Sergunina spoke about the demand for tourist information centers in Moscow

Since its opening in autumn 2020, Moscow's tourist information centers have been visited by over 4.3 million travelers from 65 countries, Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina said.

"Since the beginning of this year, the information centers have received more than 700 thousand tourists. Most often, the guests were interested in recreation options for children, cultural and historical routes and river walks," Sergunina noted.

Tourist centers operate in different districts of the capital: in Zaryadye Park, Bolshaya Dmitrovka, Leningradsky and Severny Rechnoy Vokzal, and other locations. Experts help tourists choose excursions, tell them about the sights and seasonal events, and also introduce them to services for travelers, such as Russpass. In the information centers, visitors can also take free travel guides, charge their phones, and purchase products from the Moscow souvenir brand.

Mobile tourist information centers visit different cities and countries. They have already made more than 100 trips. So, in February of this year, one of them hosted guests in the capital of China, where the Moscow Maslenitsa in Beijing festival was held.

The departure of another information center was timed to coincide with the 60th anniversary of the Golden Ring route. He has already visited Sergiev Posad and Yaroslavl, is currently in Kostroma, and will then travel to Suzdal, Vladimir, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Rostov Veliky and Ivanovo.

Last year, 26.5 million guests visited Moscow, half a million more than a year earlier. During the year, the contribution of tourism to the city's economy exceeded 1.8 trillion rubles, an increase of 6.5%.
