The Russian Folk Festival will be held in Sokolniki Park on July 11.

On July 11, the Folkovo Festival will be held as part of the Summer in Moscow project, where Russian folklore meets modern art. This time the event will be dedicated to the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity. For one day, Sokolniki Park will turn into a fairy tale in a new Russian style. Russian Russian folk dances can be taught to anyone, familiar songs can be sung from childhood, workshops can be held, and popular performers of modern folk can create an atmosphere of Russian celebration. Admission to the festival is free.

An unforgettable show program has been prepared for the guests on the main stage of the festival, which will keep them in a festive mood and positive for a long time. The point of attraction will be performances by vocal and dance ensembles, choirs, folk music groups and popular artists with special folk programs. The Moscow Cossack Choir, Wormwood Folk, Stereokoromyslo, CLOVER FOLK, Spokanki and other celebrities will take the stage. A choral battle is also planned, where folk groups will perform old folk songs in a modern arrangement, and the audience will choose the winner.

Visitors will be able to sing folk songs, learn folk dances, take part in ethno-sketches based on fairy tales and legends, and rituals dedicated to family values..

Master classes will be held in the "Handwork" zone from 13:00 to 17:00. Anyone can learn how to make wreaths of fresh flowers and dried flowers, make a charm doll out of threads, and draw a unique postcard with a folk ornament. All day long, the participants will spin a single long thread, a symbolic art object of the festival.

A separate program is planned for the younger visitors of the festival. In the Lukomorye zone, playgrounds inspired by Russian fairy tales are waiting for children from 12:00 to 20:00. The children will be able to test their accuracy in the shooting range "Frog Princess", jump in bags along the "Gray Wolf Trail", play small towns, ride a Humpbacked toy Skate, face off with a bogatyr girl, take part in fun relay races and other interesting events. In addition, the interactive space "Visiting a fairy tale", a window in a hut familiar from good Soviet films, will work at the festival. Not only children, but also their parents will be able to participate in an impromptu show, guess grandmother's riddles and listen to fairy tales.

The new area for the festival will be the Big Moscow Circus Tent. On July 11, two sessions of the Circus Mystery: Guardians of Miracles program will be held here — at 14:00 and 18:00, lasting 1 hour and 30 minutes. The program of performances presents the best repertoire of the Bolshoi Moscow Circus, including performances by acrobats, jugglers, aerialists and equestrians, whose works have been awarded prestigious international awards.

The spirit of the festival will be supported by mummers — characters in images from Russian fairy tales and village life, dressed in colorful and authentic folk costumes. Under the window of the Russian hut, three girls — Aksinya, Varvara and Lukerya — will spin one common thread and tell visitors about ancient women's crafts. The most massive round dance will take place at the Folkovo Festival accompanied by a unique DJ set. The dancers, together with the guests of the park, will learn a common dance, and then organize the largest round dance.

The Folkovo Winter Festival was held in Sokolniki Park on January 10 and 11 this year as part of the Winter in Moscow project and attracted more than 140,000 people. Folkovo is a rare opportunity to experience native Russian culture in a festival format and get a lot of impressions.
