- Rakova announced that the NPC named after Solovyov has received the status of a WHO collaborating center.
The World Health Organization has awarded the Moscow Scientific and Practical Center named after Z.P. Solovyov the status of a collaborating center on brain health, said Anastasia Rakova, Deputy Mayor of the capital for social Development.
According to her, today it is the only institution in the world that has received this status in the relevant field. Now the capital's specialists will have direct access to international scientific research. Together with their foreign colleagues, they will participate in the formation of new approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of brain pathologies.
"Moscow is officially becoming a global platform where national and global standards for the treatment and diagnosis of brain diseases will be formed, and new approaches will be developed. For residents of the capital, this means the fastest possible implementation of the most modern scientific achievements into real clinical practice," said the Deputy mayor.
The Russian Ministry of Health proposed to grant the NPC named after Z.P. Solovyov the status of a collaborating center. The initiative was approved by the Regional Office for Europe and WHO headquarters.
The Solovyov Moscow Scientific and Practical Center has been cooperating with the World Health Organization for many years. Its experts participated in the development of the Global Action Plan on Epilepsy and Other Neurological Disorders for 2022-2030. The center's specialists speak at major forums, participate in the creation of clinical recommendations, publish articles, and hold international conferences. They have been awarded the Moscow City Hall Prize in the field of medicine three times.
NPC staff study the epidemiology of brain diseases, the mechanisms of their development, biological and social risk factors, and work to optimize diagnostic and treatment strategies. The priority remains the introduction of new developments into the practice of Moscow and Russian healthcare, as well as the strengthening of international cooperation.
