The cardiologist named the reasons for the mandatory ambulance call in the summer
Maria Glezer, the chief freelance cardiologist of the Moscow region, told us in which case an ambulance should be called in the summer.
In an interview with Radio 1 on Wednesday, July 1, she warned that the deterioration of health should not be ignored in hot weather. When the air temperature is high, the cardiovascular system experiences increased stress, so if you feel weak, dizzy, or faint, you should immediately call an ambulance.
According to the expert, an unnecessary medical call is less dangerous than a missed stroke or heart attack. Glaser also warned against changing the dosage of medications on your own. She stressed that if the drugs stopped working, you can adjust the treatment only after consulting with a doctor, because in the heat such experiments can be life-threatening.
Earlier on June 1, doctor Sergey Boytsov advised to follow a water regime to reduce the load on the heart in the heat. According to him, in order to reduce the load on the heart and blood vessels, it is necessary to use indoor cooling systems, observe the water regime and monitor the intake of medications.
Also that day, pediatrician Irina Naumova warned that using ice and ice water to cool a child with heat stroke could worsen his condition. At the first signs of overheating, the child should be moved to a cool place or shade, take off excess clothes and begin to wipe with water at room temperature, the Moscow city news agency reports. On the eve of June 30, pediatrician Dmitry Malykh said that abnormal heat is especially dangerous for children because their bodies overheat faster and lose fluid. The pediatrician called the optimal temperature for the child +22... +24 degrees, RT notes.
Earlier, on June 22, gastroenterologist Victoria Stepanova said that coffee in the summer heat can be dangerous to health. It accelerates the heart rate and changes the vascular response, which creates additional stress on the cardiovascular system, notes 360.ru . Nutritionist Anton Polyakov on June 12 called for giving up red meat, sausage, sugary sodas and alcohol in the heat, writes IA Regnum. Gastroenterologist Evgenia Melnikova noted on June 11 that overeating in the heat can lead to drowsiness and discomfort in the stomach. The larger the portion, the more heat generation increases inside the body, NSN notes.
