Russian companies annually lose almost three months of an employee's working time searching for data, information and documents within the organization. Inga Skers, co-founder of the Weeek service and business expert, told about this on Wednesday, July 1.

The service's analysts conducted a survey among 1,140 specialists from Russian companies and found that 25% of employees spend up to an hour a day searching for information within the company, another 25% spend from an hour to two hours, and 23% spend from two to three hours. At the same time, every tenth employee loses from three to four hours of working time daily, and 17% lose from four hours or more.

"On average, employees spend about 1 hour and 50 minutes a day searching for information and restoring the work context. This is equivalent to almost 38 hours or five working days per month. During the year, losses reach 452 hours — more than 56 working days, or almost three months of working time per employee," she said in an interview with Lenta.Ru .

Skers noted that the problem is systemic in nature and is associated with the complication of the internal processes of companies.

"Data, documents, and current statuses are distributed across dozens of systems and work chats. It is more difficult for employees to plan their work day, and it is more difficult for managers to see the overall picture of processes. When important information turns out to be fragmented, the number of clarifications, re—approvals and management errors increases," she noted.

The business expert said that time losses are related to the overall sustainability of the business, and in conditions of high efficiency requirements, the cost of organizational mistakes increases significantly.

"Due to the low speed of adaptation, the company does not have time to use market solutions ahead of competitors and loses the race," the expert concluded.
