Moscow Poly revealed the characteristics of the Voyt electric crossover

Currently, the prototype of the Russian electric crossover Voyt is capable of driving up to 337 km without recharging, and the power reserve is planned to double in the future. On July 1, Izvestia was told about this at the Moscow Polytechnic University, which shared the technical characteristics of the model.

The prototype, called Voyt SUV, was developed by Roman Voyt, head of the Electric Vehicles project at Rosatom's composite division, in collaboration with Moscow Poly. Last weekend, the prototype of the crossover for the first time drove through the city streets, taking part in the Moscow transport electric festival.

The car is based on a universal electric platform assembled by a team of engineers from the Advanced Engineering School of Technological Leadership of the Moscow Polytechnic Institute. The university's specialists carried out the design and assembly work of the platform as part of the Rosatom project for testing, and some of the parts were manufactured at the Technological Support Center of the FDR School.

According to the Polytechnic, the electrocrossover is built on the so—called "Progressive electroarchitecture" — a domestic highly localized class B-B+ electric platform. The supporting structure is made of a hollow carbon composite profile, which simultaneously serves as a power frame for the traction battery.

The curb weight of the pilot model with a battery and polymer body is less than 1000 kg, which is significantly less than that of modern electric vehicles. A battery manufactured by Renera (a subsidiary of Rosatom) with a capacity of 42 kWh provides a range of up to 337 km on the WLTC cycle. An 84 kWh battery is under development, which will provide a range of 670 km.

According to Voit, more than 60% of the components for the serial assembly of the model will be produced at Rosatom enterprises. He noted that with production volumes of up to 10 thousand cars per year, such electric vehicles will be able to compete at cost with cars powered by an internal combustion engine. It is not specified when it is planned to establish mass production of such machines.

Earlier, on June 25, it was reported that the Russian Atom electric car had passed certification crash tests at the NAMI State Scientific Center of the Russian Federation. Kama stated that the model is ready for mass production and the start of sales, but did not specify the start date.
