Amur Shipyard launched the small rocket ship Storm
Amur Shipbuilding Plant (ASZ) The United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) launched the small rocket ship project 22800 Storm. This was announced on July 1 by the corporation's press service in the Maks messenger.
The ceremony took place on the day of the 90th anniversary of the company. The ship was laid down in July 2020 and became the third in a series being built at the ASZ according to the project of the USC Almaz design Bureau.
It is noted that the launching itself was carried out using the launching dock-the Amur River pontoon, created as part of the corporation's dock program. After the ceremony, the ship will be moved to the completion pier for further work. Traditionally, a bottle of champagne was smashed on board the ship by Alina Doublavskaya, an occupational safety specialist at the ASZ branch in Primorsky Krai.
The USC clarified that the ships of the 22800 Karakurt project belong to the third rank. Their purpose is to conduct combat operations in the near sea zone and perform tasks in peacetime. Armament includes shock and anti-aircraft systems, combat control, detection, targeting and communications systems, and the basis of strike power are Kalibr missiles.
On May 8, a solemn ceremony was held in Baltiysk to receive the small rocket ship "Burya" project 22800 "Karakurt" into the Russian Navy. The ship is designed for operations in the sea zone both as part of groups and independently. It is the carrier of the Kalibr-NK cruise missile system and is equipped with the Pantsir-M anti-aircraft missile and artillery system.
