Dodon again demanded the resignation of the Cabinet of Ministers and the President of Moldova due to corruption

The Cabinet of Ministers of Moldova, like its president Maia Sandu, needs to resign due to corruption scandals and mistakes. This was announced on July 1 by the ex-leader of the republic and head of the opposition Party of Socialists Igor Dodon.

Commenting on Sandu's speech, the politician noted that she was once again voicing her election promises, even though she had been in power for five years. The current president acknowledged the presence of errors in his office and said that now they would allegedly be corrected.

"People no longer believe in the sincerity of PAS (Sandu's Action and Solidarity party. — Ed.). They also do not believe in the fake apologies of this government. If it weren't for journalistic investigations, lawlessness and protectionism would have continued — with the knowledge of high—ranking officials. <...> The time has come for the government to resign and early parliamentary and presidential elections to be held," Dodon wrote on his Telegram channel.

The people, as the former Moldovan president explained, are now "under almost dictatorial control" and they are not satisfied with the demonstrative resignations of minor officials, to which they are sent "to divert their eyes." According to Dodon, the republic's political system is in urgent need of reformation and relaunch.

The pressure on the opposition is not decreasing

On June 3, Dodon told Izvestia on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2026) about the arrests of oppositionists in his homeland. He linked these processes to the megalomania suffered by the current Moldovan government. The ex-president recalled that his own detention four years ago took place exactly on Sandu's birthday — May 24.
