Mandatory labeling of car parts postponed until 2027
Mandatory labeling of vehicle parts will be introduced no earlier than February 28, 2027. This was announced on July 1 by representatives of the Union of Car Services in their Telegram channel.
In March, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia proposed to introduce mandatory labeling of auto parts, the draft resolution is posted on the federal portal of draft regulatory legal acts. It provides for the phased introduction of mandatory labeling of certain types of vehicle components, devices with an internal combustion engine and self-propelled vehicles from September 1 of this year. Labeling mechanisms have already been tested as part of an experiment that runs from February 25, 2025 to August 31, 2026.
At that time, it was reported that the start of mandatory registration in the labeling information system is scheduled for September 1, 2026. The obligation to provide information on the turnover of goods and the withdrawal of goods from circulation to the labeling system is planned to be introduced from December 1, 2027.
As Ilya Plisov, a member of the board of the Union of Car Services, said earlier, different groups of automotive components are involved in regulation, such as oils, technical fluids, filters, spark plugs, glasses, brake discs and pads, wheels, generators, bearings and other product categories. Labeling of spare parts makes it possible to monitor the life cycle of each unit of production and obtain aggregated information on the market of labeled goods.
According to Plisov, auto parts may become more expensive after the introduction of mandatory labeling.
"The price of the goods includes not only the Data Matrix code, but also the costs of applying the code, processing the goods, document support, storage, transportation, equipment configuration and staff work," the union noted.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that in January–May 2026, the number of offers for car service workers increased by 61% year-on-year. The average remuneration offered was 69.2 thousand rubles per month.
