A fighter of the Russian Armed Forces spoke about the use of saw discs by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on drones

The militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are massively equipping FPV drones with homemade ammunition with damaging elements in the form of a multitude of sharpened discs from circular saws. This was announced on July 1 by a fighter of the 18th Combined Arms army with the call sign Vorobey.

"We have encountered homemade shells, they are made like a circular saw. That is, the disks. There is a combat charge inside them, and the striking element itself is these sharpened discs <...> There are about 20 discs in each shell," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to the military, the Ukrainian Armed Forces militants are attaching an improvised explosive device to the bottom of the FPV drone. It consists of a cassette with explosives and a block of several dozen discs with a diameter of about 10-15 cm.

Vorobey clarified that it is the disk itself that acts as a striking element. He noted that such ammunition is light, so the drone is able to fly far and fast, while inflicting multiple shrapnel wounds.

A combination of mobile radars and air defense drones will ensure effective operation.

On June 30, a senior technician of the unmanned systems of the 11th army Corps of the North group of forces with the call sign Omsk said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces militants use so-called dummy drones made from sewage pipes to overload the Russian air defense system. Such a device, as Omsk added, was named "trubolet".
