The State Duma warned about fraud with vouchers to children's camps

In Russia, the number of fraudulent operations in the field of children's recreation increased sharply in May-June 2026, the main sign of fraud is the price of a ticket, which is several times lower than the market price. This was announced on July 1 by Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Budget and Taxes Kaplan Panesh from the LDPR faction.

"Parents are looking for travel packages, they want the child to rest and gain strength. This is actively used by scammers. The cost of a trip to a good camp starts from 50 thousand rubles, and one successful scam pays off the attackers' efforts. They create fake websites, steal accounts, and collect personal data of children and parents," Panesh told TASS.

He noted that scammers create fake Internet pages that copy the official websites of well-known camps, including Artek and Smena, as well as travel agencies, add fake reviews and create artificial excitement with limited offers. He noted that after receiving the money, the site or community disappears.

In addition, the attackers use tricks in messengers and social networks, offering to vote for a child in a competition for a ticket, click on the link and enter the SMS code, which actually leads to the theft of accounts. Bots are also used to "book" places, which collect personal data and confirmation codes.

Panes stressed that as a result of such actions, citizens may lose not only money, but also confidential information — on fake websites, parents are asked to enter passport data, children's SNILS and bank card information. This information can then be used to arrange loans and other illegal transactions.
