On July 1, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, in a congratulatory message to Chinese President Xi Jinping on the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, declared his readiness to develop friendly relations and cooperation with China.

"I am ready to work together with the General Secretary, Comrade, to further glorify socialism, the common cause of both parties (the Workers' Party of Korea and the Communist Party of China. — Ed.), and to continue to raise and develop friendly cooperative relations between Korea and China — the common heritage of the peoples of both countries — in accordance with the requirements of the times," the text of the message is published by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).

In addition, Kim Jong-un mentioned the meeting of the heads of state in Pyongyang and called it historic, as it allowed to strengthen mutual trust between the partners.

On June 10, Xi Jinping, in a telegram of thanks to Kim Jong-un, said that relations between China and the DPRK had reached a new stage. He noted that during the meeting held from June 8-9, significant agreements were reached that enriched relations between China and the DPRK with new content and demonstrated the determination of both sides to strengthen traditional friendship and jointly promote development and prosperity.
