Military personnel of the unmanned systems units of the Center group of forces have begun to actively use new long-range attack drones of the BM-70 aircraft type in the area of a special military operation (SVO). This was announced on July 1 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

Drones are designed to strike at important enemy targets located far from the front line. These include ammunition depots, command posts, as well as locations for personnel and military equipment of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

"The product is very mobile. We are not tied to anything at all, neither to the terrain nor the terrain," said company commander Yuri, adding that the drone's range in good conditions reaches up to 100 km.

The BM-70 drone has an increased flight range, which allows it to hit targets deep behind enemy lines. It is equipped with a powerful warhead that allows it to destroy reinforced concrete shelters and disable fortified structures, the defense ministry stressed.

In addition, the BM-70 is resistant to enemy electronic warfare. It uses secure control channels and autonomous guidance during the final flight phase, which reduces the likelihood of signal suppression or interception. The device can be used at any time of the day, which ensures its versatility when performing target destruction tasks.

According to the ministry, the beginning of the active use of BM-70 attack drones by the Center group of forces expands the affected area and allows significant damage to be inflicted on the enemy without the use of aircraft and missile means.
