- Alikhanov announced plans to invest more than 40 billion rubles in the development of industrial robots.
In 2025, the density of robotics in the Russian manufacturing industry remained at the level of 29 robots per 10,000 employees. In 2026-2028, it is planned to invest more than 40 billion rubles in the development of robotics in the Russian industry. This was announced on July 1 by the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov.
"To achieve the target of 145 robots per 10,000 employees, it is necessary to introduce more than 80,000 industrial robots. In this scenario, their Russian fleet will be about 100,000," Alikhanov said in an interview with Expert magazine.
He stressed that the country's final place in the world ranking will be known after the publication of the report of the International Federation of Robotics, approximately in September-October 2026.
According to Alikhanov, by the end of 2025, the largest number of robots in the Central Federal District is 7,393, followed by the Volga Federal District with 6,375 robots, and there are 3,998 in the Northwestern Federal District. However, the North-Western Federal District is the leader in terms of robotics density, with 47 robots per 10,000 employees. In the Volga, Central, and North Caucasus districts, the figures were 34, 31, and 23 robots, respectively. The different dynamics are explained by the peculiarities of industry, financing and regional support.
"In general, due to the use of modern automation technologies, robotization and digitalization of production, the reduction in the required number of jobs can amount to up to 10%," said the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
According to him, taking into account demographics and investment programs, in 2026-2032, the replacement staffing requirement will amount to 1.7 million people, of which 185.9 thousand is a net increase compared to 2025.
Alikhanov stressed that the volume of production of Russian industrial robots in 2025 amounted to 414 units worth 2.33 billion rubles, while in 2024 only 11 robots worth 60 million rubles were produced. Last year, at least 2.2 thousand robots were introduced, and companies have already assessed their effectiveness, which indicates a growing interest in industrial automation.
On June 24, the press service of Rostec State Corporation reported that the company for the first time introduced new modifications of the Dispatcher ground-based robotic complex, designed, among other things, for civilian use. It is noted that the complexes are protected from dust and moisture, and due to their compact size and high maneuverability, they can be used in conditions of limited space.
