Sergeant Andrey Bumich, while performing a combat mission to provide fire support to Russian troops, destroyed an enemy unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in the sky above the positions of Russian troops. This was announced on July 1 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

While performing a combat mission, Bumich monitored the air situation in the secured sector. During the observation, he promptly detected an enemy drone flying over Russian positions. Acting decisively, despite the continued threat of artillery fire, the soldier immediately opened fire with small arms.

Thanks to his accurate and professional skills, the enemy's UAV was hit, lost control and fell into the field without completing the task.

The department also noted the professionalism of Corporal Dmitry Plukhin. During the execution of the combat mission to protect the location of the motorized rifle unit, the corporal, despite the constant artillery shelling of the enemy, controlled the airspace.

Having detected the approach of an enemy drone in a timely manner, Ilyukhin immediately deployed electronic warfare. As a result of the competent actions of the serviceman, the drone's control channel was suppressed, after which the UAV landed at a safe distance from the military personnel. After neutralizing the drone, the fighters quickly changed positions. Soon, the Ukrainian side launched an artillery strike on the initial location of the Russian military.

The competent actions of the corporal deprived the enemy of the opportunity to conduct reconnaissance and adjust fire, which made it possible to avoid casualties and continue the task in a tactical direction.
