The Russian brand Jeland has revealed a new crossover C5

The new Russian car brand Jeland has introduced the first model from the series — the urban fastback crossover C5. The brand's press service shared details about the model with Izvestia on June 30.

The production of the model will be set up at the AGR holding plant in Kaluga, the dates of the start of sales and prices have not yet been specified. The Jeland C5 is equipped with a 1.5-liter turbo engine with 147 hp and a robotic dual-clutch transmission. Both front- and all-wheel drive versions will be available. The model is based on the facelifted Omoda C5 crossover, which debuted in Russia in the spring.

The crossover received discs with a diameter of 17/18 inches, LED optics, dual-zone climate control, a "winter" package (heated steering wheel, windshield and rear windows, side mirrors, windshield washer nozzles, all seats), and an electric fifth door.

The cabin has an 8-inch dashboard screen and a central media system screen with a diagonal of 12.3 to 15.6 inches, and wireless charging for a 50-watt smartphone with cooling function is provided. The chairs are upholstered in eco-leather. The luggage compartment volume reaches 1,149 liters. There is a panoramic viewing system and a set of intelligent assistants, which includes adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring and traffic assistant in traffic jams.

Now the former GM plant in Shushary, owned by the Russian holding AGR, is developing J-series crossovers, similar to models of the Chinese brand Jaecoo. A line of C-series cars, similar to crossovers from another Chinese brand, Omoda, will begin rolling off the assembly line at the Kaluga AGR plant in the fall.

Jeland is one of four joint projects of the Russian holding AGR and the Chinese company Defetoo, in addition to Tenet, Tenet Plus and Esteo. On June 11, the first model of the new domestic brand Jeland, the J6 crossover, went on sale in Russia. On June 25, production of the Jeland J7 crossover began at the plant in Shushary.
