Eiffel Tower increased by 10 cm due to the heat wave in France
Against the background of abnormally high air temperatures in Paris, the Eiffel Tower temporarily increased in height by about 10 cm. This is due to the natural thermal expansion of the metal from which the structure is made. This was reported on June 30 by RTL radio station.
"When the temperature changes from -10°C to +40°C, the Eiffel Tower grows by about 10 cm. This corresponds to two centimeters for every +10°C," the publication says.
