Due to the abnormal heat in Hungary, there is a critical shortage of drinking water. This was announced on June 30 by the country's Prime Minister Peter Magyar.

According to him, the water supply systems are operating at their maximum capacity, and water consumption on weekends has increased 1.5–2 times compared to the usual level. Magyar warned that without reducing consumption in individual settlements, there may be an acute shortage of water.
