In Moscow, drivers have become less likely to park on sidewalks

Since the beginning of this year, the Moscow Administrative Road Inspectorate (MADI) has identified more than 1.6 thousand cars that were left by drivers on sidewalks under forbidding signs. Compared to the same period last year, this figure decreased by 17%, the Moscow Department of Transport reported in "Max" on June 30.

The Department of Transport emphasized that cars on sidewalks create inconveniences for all road users, especially for pedestrians and people with limited mobility. Cars interfere with street cleaning, make it difficult for emergency services to travel, and damage road infrastructure.

If the owner of the car parked on the sidewalk is not in place, the MADI inspector will record the violation and send the car to a special parking lot. A fine of 4.5 thousand rubles is provided for violation.

For which the owners of such cars can be brought to administrative responsibility from June 1.

MADI has analyzed compliance with the requirements of forbidding road signs since the beginning of 2026. As reported on June 19, owners of premium cars were among the violators of the rules of stopping and parking. Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Lexus, Land Rover and Porsche passenger cars were most often parked under signs 3.27 "No stopping" and 3.28 "No parking".

At the end of May, it became known that the State Duma proposed to provide for a 15-minute suspension of evacuation to a special parking lot of a vehicle (TS) in order to allow the car owner to get out of the car or bring the documents (from home or office) necessary for management.
